The School of World Economy, HSE (Higher School of Economy) University and ESCAP jointly organized this policy dialogue with the following objectives:
- To disseminate the key messages from the Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific 2024.
- To discuss the findings of the report on what national governments and the international community can do to reduce the cost of government borrowing and increase the supply of long-term capital for development purposes, and the fiscal implications of global megatrends (particularly population ageing, climate change and technological advancements).
This dialogue discussed valuable insights and practical solutions to help governments in the region navigate their financing challenges more effectively.
