The UNESCAP Regional Trade Agreement analyzer provides a tool for automated mapping of provisions or topics addressed in articles of trade agreements. The algorithm is based on detection of sets of keyword combinations in the articles of trade agreements. It allows for variability in natural language, as well as the ability to map multiple provisions or categorized topics in a single session. The analyzer currently includes over 440 bilateral and plurilateral trade agreements concluded globally over the period from 1940 through 2022. Lists of trade agreements, their texts and relevant metadata were sourced, as feasible, through Regional Trade Agreements database of the WTO, Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Agreement Database or from the official websites of government institutions.
