Over 500 participants including government officials, youth and representatives of academia and the media participated in a training to prepare for the Sustainable Bangkok Campaign, held from 9 to 11 November at the UNCC. The training was part of youth-led Campaign which will aim at raising awareness of sustainability across the city and promoting activities that clean up the environment. The event was conducted as a result of a partnership between ESCAP, the Thailand Youth Media Network, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Mahidol University, the Global Peace Foundation and the Asia-Pacific Peace and Development Service Alliance. The main elements of the training were how to improve the quality of air, water and solid waste management, as well as ways to develop awareness of other environmental issues and enhance social cohesion and collaboration in engendering more sustainable development.
