The Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in partnership with the Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI), Indonesia is organizing an International Workshop on Intellectual Property Management and Technology Transfer on 19 - 20 November 2020.
The International Workshop will bring together policymakers and experts to deliberate on policy issues, challenges and opportunities that are critical in intellectual property (IP) management and technology licensing for commercial exploitation. The programme will comprise technical presentations and knowledge sharing sessions focusing on: (a) Policy frameworks on intellectual property and technology transfer – global and national perspectives; (b) IP management tools, strategies, best practices and business models; (c) Collaborative research to enhance technology transfer through Science and Technology Parks; and (d) Strategies and best practices of IP management and technology transfer – country experiences.
The International Workshop envisages to increase the knowledge and understanding of participants on the innovative policy mechanisms, strategies and challenges of IP management, the role of IP management in technology transfer; explore strategies and best practices of IP management and technology transfer; and promote regional cooperation for cross-border technology transfer and commercialization.
The participants of the International Workshop would comprise policy makers, representatives from government agencies, academia, R&D institutions, technology-based enterprises, domain experts and other relevant stakeholders.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, arrangements will be made for international speakers and participants to join through virtual platform and participate in the International Workshop.
