15 August - Passive Cooling Strategic Site Visit
Background
The regional workshop aimed to catalyze actions toward the adoption of passive cooling strategies across the building sector, leading to more sustainable and energy-efficient buildings. By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, we could collectively work toward addressing the challenges posed by climate change and energy consumption in the built environment.
Dialogue Objectives
This dialogue had the following three primary objectives:
- Knowledge Sharing: To exchange and disseminate information on passive cooling’s advantages and the current status of policy and practice. Topics include:
- Principles, applications, and benefits of passive cooling
- The current status of related policy and regulation
- Non-regulatory drivers of building design and construction
- Policy Consideration: To discuss and consider the policies and regulations that are needed to promote the adoption of passive cooling strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: To bring together key stakeholders from government, the private sector, and academia to foster collaboration and partnerships. This dialogue aims to create a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices.
