Banner_ESCAP-GTI Seminar

During the 23rd Consultative Commission Meeting of the Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) in December 2023, GTI member countries adopted the GTI Digital Economy Cooperation Roadmap.

To this end, the 2024 ESCAP-GTI International Seminar on Trade Facilitation aims to contribute to operationalizing the Roadmap through deepening the engagements among GTI member countries on digital trade with a focus on cross—border e-commerce. The Seminar provides a platform to engage GTI member countries and other stakeholders to:

  1. inform the latest developments on cross-border e-commerce in relation to SMEs exports;
  2. share sectoral perspectives on cross-border e-commerce; and
  3. update on policy initiatives related to cross-border e-commerce and identify areas of possible collaborations in line with the strategies and action/work plans of GTI sectoral bodies on trade (i.e., Customs Sub-Committee; Trade and Investment Committee).

The Seminar, organized annually, is held in conjunction with the meetings of GTI sectoral bodies on trade, i.e., Customs Sub-Committee (CSC) and Trade and Investment Committee (TIC) with the participation of officials from these Committees, other GTI sectoral bodies and stakeholders. The Seminar is one of the annual joint initiatives under the ESCAP-GTI development cooperation on transport, trade, and energy.
