The United Nations ESCAP South and South-West Asia Office, New Delhi, has been requested by the Department of Commerce, Government of India to train its new officials and staff on the role and function of Secretariat for hosting multilateral meetings as they will be supporting the Trade, and Investment Working Group (TIWG) meetings of the G20 during India’s Presidency. The objective of this training is to create awareness of these officials on how the multilateral intergovernmental meetings are held, enhance their capacity to provide secretarial assistance to the TIWG meetings, take notes of proceedings and prepare reports/chair’s summary of meetings. The training will be held on 17th March 2023.
The training will comprise of discussions on key components – planning and preparing for meeting as well as roles and responsibilities during and after the meetings. The training will also include hands-on exercises on note taking as well as adoption of report on a real time basis.
