An Ad-Hoc South Asian Subregional Task Force on Cross-border Electronic Trade Data Exchange (tentative name, hereafter referred as “Task Force”) will be established, following the decision at the South Asian Subregional Stakeholder Consultation Workshop, organized on 15 December 2022, in Bangkok, Thailand. The Task Force will work toward a pilot-based electronic data exchange of selected trade data elements or documents, on an ad-hoc basis. The members of the Task Force will include expert officials from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, as well as India (tbc).
This inception meeting of the Task Force will discuss the business needs of the electronic exchange of selected trade data elements or documents based on the results of feasibility studies already conducted. The Ad-Hoc Task Force will also discuss its terms of reference, including its scope and potential activities. The establishment and the meeting of the Task Force are supported under the project “Enhancing capacity for sustainable cross-border trade digitalization through application of emerging technologies”, funded by Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF).
