Aligned with the Greater Tumen Initiative’s common vision and strategic directions and ESCAP’s subregional programme priority in East and North-East Asia on sustainable connectivity, the Annual Forum on Connectivity aims to provide a regular platform for GTI sectoral bodies to engage on connectivity-related issues of common interests. The Forum is jointly organized by the country chair of the GTI Consultative Commission (CC), GTI Secretariat and ESCAP East and North-East Asia Office and is a regular side event leading up to the annual meeting of the GTI Consultative Commission. GTI member countries include China, Mongolia, Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation.
The 23rd CC Meeting is chaired by China with the theme “Build an Open, Connected and Innovative NEA Economy”.
To this end, the 2nd Annual Forum on Connectivity, co-organized by China (through the Ministry of Commerce), ESCAP (through its East and North-East Asia Subregional Office) and GTI Secretariat, will be utilized as a platform for sectoral dialogues in line with the theme of the 23rd CC meeting. In particular, the Forum aims to be a dialogue on “Trade Digitalization: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities”.
