The Expert Dialogue on "Strengthening national statistical systems - sharing country experiences on data governance" was organized by ESCAP Statistics Division the day before the Committee on Statistics, Eighth Session.

The event was held on 22 August 2022, from 09:00 to 11:00 hours (Bangkok time), in person and by invitation only, at MR-A, UNCC, Bangkok, Thailand.

Mr. Gogita Todradze has been working in various positions in the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT) since 2002. He was the Head of the Business Statistics Division from 2010 to 2016 and the Deputy Executive Director from 2016 to 2018.

Since November 2017, he has been a member of the Business Statistics Expert Group of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). In addition, he has served as a member and then the Chair of the Bureau of the Committee on Statistics of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) since November 2018.

Mr. Todradze holds higher education qualifications in the fields of Economics, Statistics and Legal Studies. He received his PhD in Economics in 2006.

He speaks English, German and Russian languages.

Mr. Batdavaa has been appointed as Chairman of the National Statistics Office of Mongolia in Jan 2021. Before his appointment, he served as the Director-General of Research and Statistics Department, Markets Department, and Balance of Payments Research and Statistics Division of the Bank of Mongolia.  

He earned his master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the Luxembourg School of Finance, University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ming Chuan University, Taiwan, China.

Mr. Batdavaa earned Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder in September 2019.
