18 to 22 June 2021 | By invitation only

The purpose of the meeting is to gather relevant inputs and feedback on the draft of the Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Report 2021 on Climate-Smart Trade and Investment for Sustainable Development, jointly prepared by ESCAP, UNCTAD and UNEP. The report will contribute to the UN call to build back better a more inclusive, resilient, green and digital economy in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Climate action has been designated by the UN Secretary General as both a priority and a driver of the decade.  The latest Asia-Pacific SDG report noted that the implementation of related SDGs is particularly lacking in the region. In this context, APTIR 2021 will focus on how trade and investment can better support and protect the environment and help reduce or mitigate climate changes and its effects.
