People Centred Cities in a Globalizing World:
A Mayors and Citizens Forum, Bangkok |
The objective of the Congress is to provide
a forum for mayors and other urban decision makers in and outside local
government to explore innovative approaches to improve the management of
cities, with the aim of making cities more people-friendly. There will
be parallel symposia designed as a “bazaar of ideas” to address issues
such as people-centred urban governance, IT-connected cities, sustainable
transportation system, pro-poor service delivery, community-driven environment.
There will be three CITYNET legislative meetings, study visits and an exhibition.
A Development Assistance Forum is organized for donors and recipients to
interact and deliberate closer cooperation. |
