As a follow-up to the third workshop (Bangkok, 3-4 May 2005) and country pilot studies, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) held a workshop to discuss recommendations for disability question sets for use in census and survey in Asia and the Pacific Region and reviewed the Training Manual for Disability Statistics.

The major specific issues of this workshop were to: (i) present and discuss the results from the field testing of disability question sets in five pilot countries; (ii) discuss recommendations for disability question sets for use in censuses and surveys in UNESCAP countries; (iii) review the current draft of Disability Statistics Training Manual and discuss its dissemination and possible follow-up activities; (iv) evaluate and draw conclusions of the two-year project; and (v) discuss possible follow-up activities.
