Increases the capacity of Governments to improve policy framework
to better manage external debt through group trainings and

Republic and Nepal. |

Linkages
Identifies and disseminates planning practices and local-level
development strategies that utilize rural-urban linkages as
the basis for poverty reduction initiatives. Participating

for the Urban Poor
Increases the capacity of local governments in Asia and the
Pacific to address issues of slums and squatter settlements
in countries where urbanization and growth of such settlements

Undong
Adapts the rural development strategy used in Korea in the

Pacific Urban Forum
Periodically, ESCAP convenes local and national governments,
civil society and international institutions to discuss urban
issues in the region. The fourth edition of the Forum was
held in Hanoi (Viet Nam) in 2005 |

Support
to Urban Housing Policy
Assists the Government of Cambodia in (i) the preparation
of a participatory Urban Housing Policy, and (ii) the formulation
of a pilot Housing Programme for the Urban Poor, focused on
the secondary towns of Cambodia, to test the implementation
