Our objective is to assist ESCAP
member countries to address the development and enhancement
of strategies and policies supporting national goals
for maximizing benefits from new developments in information
and communication technologies.
Our activities focus on supporting the development
of policies that promote access to, and application
of, ICTs for development. We have also been instrumental in the regional preparations for the second phase of the World Summit on the Information Society. The first regional conference, four sub regional conferences and the second regional conference were all organized successfully resulting in the Regional Action Plan.
