Guideline for Implementing the Agenda for Action on Social Development in the ESCAP Region: [ST/ESCAP/1700] 1996
The adoption in 1994 of the Agenda for Action on Social Development in the ESCAP Region has given renewed impetus to the social development programmes already implemented by the Governments in the region. The present Guidelines seek to facilitate national and regional efforts by providing general directions and highlighting major considerations in the implementation of the Agenda. The Guidelines take into consideration the diversity in the geography and in the cultural, social and demographic characteristics and levels of economic development in the countries and areas in the Asia-Pacific region.
