Agenda for Action on Social Development in the ESCAP Region 1995
The Agenda for Action on Social Development in the ESCAP Region addresses critical social development issues by identifying specific courses of action to be taken by countries of the region, individually and collectively. With this Agenda, the Governments of Asia and the Pacific reaffirm their commitment to the region's social development objectives by adopting a series of specific and time-bound goals, as well as evolving the means for promoting regional and international cooperation in the attainment of those goals. This Agenda has been adopted by the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Conference in Preparation for the World Summit for Social Development, which was held in Manila from 12 to 18 October 1994. This agenda establishes a number of social development goals and targets for the ESCAP region and sets out the means whereby the Governments will pursue those ends.
