Population Headliners is a recognized tool for advocacy and resource mobilization, highlighting important aspects of national population programmes and notable population-related events and activities. Prepared by the Population and Social Integration Section of the Emerging Social Issues Division of UNESCAP, with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) it is published six times a year (3,000 copies per issue) and targets key readers and selected personnel and organizations in the population field.

The ESCAP-UNFPA project on “Population, Development and Poverty: Emerging Challenges” (2004-2007), of which the bimonthly Population Headliners was a part, ended on 31st December 2007.
The publication of the present newsletter is thus being discontinued, until further notice.
