People in the headlines

Several staff movements have been reported within UNFPA which concerns the Asian region, including that of Mr. Arthur Erken, from UNDP Headquarters, now appointed UNFPA Representative in Bangladesh effective 1 July. Also, Ms. Bettina Maas, former UNFPA Representative in Cambodia has been appointed Deputy Director of the Division for Arab States, Europe and Central Asia, effective 2 July, while Mr. Nesim Tumkaya has been appointed UNFPA Representative in India, effective 3 June.
Formerly in India, Mr. Ramesh Penumaka Venkat has been appointed UNFPA Representative in Afghanistan, starting from 4 August.
