Donors give extra for tsunami relief
 Several
Governments responded to an appeal for US$ 28 million issued by
the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in January to assist
its ongoing efforts to help the survivors of the tsunami that occurred
in parts of the ESCAP region on 26 December.
The supplemental donations of the Governments of Germany (US$ 8.1
million), Japan (US$ 5.5 million), Norway (US$ 2 million) and the
Netherlands (US$ 1 million) are being used to help the survivors
of the tragedy.
