In order to keep track of the fast evolving human capacity
in population and development, the Asia-Pacific Population
Information Network (AP POPIN), ESCAP with financial support
from UNFPA entirely revamped its database on population
professionals in the Asian and Pacific region, proposing
a new structure, updated content and search feature.
The new Directory provides updated information on population
experts’ professional affiliations, education, field
of expertise and publications on a variety of countries
in Asia and the Pacific.
The Directory should prove useful to facilitate and increase
access to experts in the region and contribute to an increased
awareness and understanding of population expertise. It
will also facilitate networking among the population experts.
The Directory is presented in a very user-friendly format,
which allows you to search by country or by keyword (whether
by name, e-mail, institute, city, region or field of expertise).
Here are the countries and institutions which took part
in this project:
- Australian Centre for Population Research Demography,
The Australian National University, Australia
- Korea National University of Education, Republic of
Korea
- National Statistical Office, Mongolia
- Demography/Population Programme, Secretariat for the
Pacific Community
- Service Analysis, DHB Funding and Performance Directorate,
Ministry of Health, New Zealand
- Population Division, Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka
We take this opportunity to thank all of them for their
active participation to this worthwhile undertaking.
