ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS:

- To upgrade women’s and social affairs portfolios to cabinet level status.
- To formulate and adopt official FSM gender policy and strategic development agenda.
- To establish effective mechanisms for engaging women in the democratic, development and governance processes.
- To adopt gender development action plan to guide FSM commitments for and compliance with national, regional and global platforms for action on women.
- To prepare adequate gender budgets in regular governmental budget processes, etc.

MAIN ACTIVITIES, ACTIVITIES, PROJECTS, PROGRAMMES:

- Continued lobbying for adequate core budgets,
- Continued to advocate gender policy and mainstreaming capacity through internal capacity building and through informal dialogue processes,
- Participate in national, regional and global development financing processes,
- Continued lobbying and translating CEDAW to 9 different vernacular languages,
- Conduct awareness raising on human rights education and publications on CEDAW, CRC, CSEC and other universal human rights instruments
- Continued to conduct awareness programs on Anti-domestic, violence Bill against Women and Children, and
- Promote Programs such as Girl Scouts, Out of school programs, Women’s Health Program, Breastfeeding Promotion, HIV/AIDS/STI Prevention Programs, Women in Economic and, etc.
