ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

5 Deputy, 1 Secretary for MOWE
25 Assistant Deputy, 2 Head of Bureau, about 60 Head of Division, about 75 Manager of sub division and about 275 employee in total.

OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS:

(2005-2009)
To coordinate all efforts in women empowerment in Indonesia in collaborating with other sectors in line ministries, Non government organizations and other private sectors as well as communities.
Functions:
1. To increase quality of women’s life
2. To increase women’s participation in politic and decision making
3. To eliminate violence against women
4. To increase children protection and welfare
5. To increase institutionalization for gender mainstreaming
6. To increase community participation

MAIN INITIATIVES, ACTIVITIES, PROJECTS, PROGRAMMES:

Main Initiatives:
- Policy in for of laws (Law, Presidential Regulation)
- Coordination for implementation
Activities:
- Consolidation all activities at regional areas
- Create the operational strategy to get effectiveness and efficiency
- Create integrative material
- Strengthen the resources for regional and sectors
- Strengthen the technical support

Projects:
- under the coordination of Bureau of Planning for National Development
- provide yearly: January – December

Programmes:
1. Increasing the quality of life and protection for women
2. Increasing the children welfare and protection
3. Strengthening the institution for gender mainstreaming
4. Harmonization of policy in increasing quality for children and women
