YEAR OF ESTABLISHMENT:

The Department for Family, Women’s and Children’s Issues at the Ministry was established in 1997

OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS:

The main objectives and functions of the Division are to:
• develop legal documents regulating the issues of women, as well as work out suggestions on the improvement of the current legislation,
• conduct researches on the situation of women and develop projects towards the solution of existing issues,
• work out new mechanisms for social protection of women and ensure the implementation of these mechanisms,
• co-operate with NGOs and international organizations dealing with women’s issues,
• develop measures towards improving the status of women and enhancing their role in society,
• organizes conferences, seminars and other events devoted to women’s issues.
