organized a "Sub-regional Training Workshop on
Elimination of Violence against Women in Partnership
with Men" in December 2003 in New Delhi, India.
The workshop focused on promoting the capacity of
the participants to promote policies, and to design
and implement measures and activities to end violence
against women in partnership with men. The objectives
of the training workshop were: 1) sharing good practices
regarding men's roles in ending violence against women;
and 2) developing guidelines on strategies and techniques
to incorporate men's involvement in ending violence
against women. Twenty-seven Government officials from
the Ministries of Justice or Criminal Law and the
Ministries for Women and Children’s Affairs,
as well as NGOs working on VAW from the South Asian
region attended the workshop.
