The United Nations ESCAP Pacific Operations Centre and the United Nations Departmentof Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) will host the ‘Pacific High Level Dialogue on Mauritius Strategy of Implementation +5’ to be held in Port Vila, Vanuatu on 8-9 February 2010. The meeting will be followed by the Pacific Conference on the Human Face of the Global Economic Crisis on 10-12 February 2010.
The MSI+5 meeting will finalize a regional synthesis report prepared by ESCAP and regional partners, and outline priorities, emerging issues and future areas for further addressing the vulnerabilities of Pacific Small Island Developing States (SIDS).











ESCAP will review the implementation of the Mauritius Strategy for Implementation in the Pacific SIDS under its agenda item ‘Special Body on Pacific Island Developing Countries’ at its sixty-sixth session in May 2010. The report will be presented first to the inter-regional meeting to be held just before the SIDS Day of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) at its 18th session in May 2010. It will also be made available to the CSD-18 itself acting as the Preparatory Committee to the high-level review meeting. The High Level Review will take place during the 65th General Assembly.
