Explore the beliefs around power and respect that affect the way you manage and communicate upwards
Recognize the dynamics of authority within a cultural and organizational context that may affect manager-subordinate communication
Understand both your and your manager’s strengths, weaknesses, and motivations and their interplay
Frame your ideas and request with your boss’ expectations, style and needs in mind
Offer feedback in a way that helps managers listen and understand
Communicate in a way that develops and maintains a relationship of mutual trust and respect
