:: Guide to "Request for Rollback"

Rollbacks

A rollback is an action carried out by UN Headquarters, whereby an e-PAS is literally rolled back to a previous stage, eliminating all actions taken between the current stage and the stage to which the e-PAS is rolled back. Typical reasons for rollbacks are

•  the name of the FRO and/or SRO has changed, and it is too late for the staff member to reflect these changes in his/her e-PAS, i.e., Start-End-of-Cycle (SM).
•  any comments made by staff member, FRO or SRO are to be changed

Requests for rollback must be made in writing (email) by the first reporting officer (FRO) or by the second reporting officer (SRO) and the other reporting officer and staff member (SM) must be copied. The complete name and index number(s) of the staff member(s), the current stage and the stage reporting officers is asking to have it rolled back to must be included in the request. If there are several staff with similar problems this should be presented in a list with current stage and stage you wish it rolled back to clearly indicated.

Please note:

•  The request required a manual intervention into e-PAS so all parties must be in agreement and informed.
•  No rollbacks are possible if the e-PAS has been FINALIZED and has moved to completed folder in e-PAS.
•  You may wish to save externally (e.g. in a Word file) any comments you have filled in after the stage to which you request rollback, as they will be automatically lost once the rollback is affected.

In order to make rollback requests easier for you, we provide you with a sample email, which you may copy and paste, filling out all required fields.
