  Competency-based Selection and Interviewing Skills - Foundation Training
    Duration: 2 days
    Training dates and time:17-18 March 2008 and 19-20 March 2008, 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
    Venue: ESCAP Learning Centre, 3rd Floor, UNCC
    Facilitator: Mr. Ciaran Beary and Ms. Pam Westhead
    Target audience: Mandatory for supervisors, managers, and other staff who conduct or participate as a panel member in interviews as part of the recruitment and selection process.

    Objectives:
    At the conclusion of the training, the participants will be able to:
       

    • Identify best global practices and principles in selection
    • Explain the importance of competencies as the framework against which to assess people
    • Apply key interviewing skills, including briefing candidates, managing the interac­tion, structuring the interview, and various techniques of questioning
    • Evaluate candidates and make fair, objective, and valid selection decisions.
