In the summer of each year, staff members are invited to apply for the sabbatical leave programme. If approved, the sabbatical leave programme enables staff to spend up to four month to conduct status-of-the-art research, enhance dialogue and build contact between the United Nations and other organizations engaged in related work world-wide.
