Programme
The Asia Pacific Business Forum 2005 will be a two-and-a-half-day event, starting with an Opening Ceremony with a Keynote Speech by high-level government and business representatives. This will be followed by a Special Roundtable session on the strategies and frameworks needed to cope with the ongoing globalization. Rebuilding business activities in areas that were hit by the Tsunami of 26 December 2004 will be discussed as part II of the Special Roundtable.
The remainder of the Forum will consist of in-depth discussions in breakout sessions along two tracks. Track I focuses on the role of governments, and discusses how to work together to improve the business climate in Asia and the Pacific. The focus of Track II is on the role of enterprises and their impact on economic and social development through Corporate Social Responsibility.
In the concluding session the two tracks will come together and participants will discuss how all stakeholders can work together to achieve the overall goal of creating profitable business opportunities leading to sustainable growth. The discussions are expected to lead to the formulation of an action-oriented agenda with specified roles for governments, business, international organizations and civil society.
